Forestry company Earnslaw One plans to built a NZ$25m sawmill on the Coromandel Peninsula to process locally logged timber into kiln dried sawn lumber.
The sawmill will be operated by subsidiary company Blue Mountain Lumber.
Operations manager Matthew Hitchings said siting the sawmill close to Earnslaw One’s Coromandel forests would dramatically reduce the number of logging truck movements out of the region.
