Pfleiderer AG of Germany has sold its door operations to VestWood A/S of Denmark as part of its investment reduction programme.
It follows the sale of its windows unit in June as part of a management buyout and the sale of its insulation business in September.
Pfleiderer’s door business generated sales of €125m in the business year 2001.
Vest-Wood is to retain the 1,200 strong workforce and intends to continue production at the three sites in Oettingen, Mittweida and Lenti in Hungary. Through the acquisition Vest-Wood plans a major expansion into Central Europe and the UK.
