Through the acquisition of Kunz, the German company became a global manufacturer of engineered wood products with production facilities in Europe and North America.
By putting even more focus on this activity, Pfleiderer expects business will continue to grow during the second half of 2006.
This, plus steady growth in eastern and western Europe, as well as North America, has given the board of management confidence to confirm a revenue target of €1.4b and an earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of at least €200m for the full fiscal 2006.
The first quarter has seen the company record a clear rise in sales and earnings with EBITDA almost doubling from the previous year.
