Birmingham-based door manufacturer and joinery specialist Penncricket Doors and Cubicles is to offer a Lyptus finish option across its general construction and commercial door ranges.

It will be used primarily for beading, lipping and vision panels, with its aesthetic credentials proving popular with customers.

Penncricket said this allows it to offer a colour matching service or contrasting finish to veneered doors.

It will be supplied with the Lyptus by C Blumsom Ltd, the UK’s first approved stockist of the product.

“We operate in a service industry where lead times are critical to a project,” said Penncricket’s Mark Burness.

“We hold some Lyptus in stock to enable us to meet short deadlines, and Blumsom has always been able to get more supplies out to us exactly when we need.”

Lyptus, a plantation-grown hardwood produced by Weyerhaeuser Company in Brazil, is designed as a sustainable alternative to traditional tropical hardwoods.

Norwich-based Youngs Doors Ltd already uses it in the manufacture of its high-end flush door range, with the German Federation of Window and Curtain Walling Manufacturers approving it for window manufacture.
