International forest certification stakeholders such as NGOs are now able to become members of the world’s largest forest certfication schemes – PEFC.

PEFC has opened a new category of membership, which enables NGOs, associations and businesses operating in two or more countries or legally registered as “international” that share common principles and objectives with PEFC International to join.

“This new advancement has tremendous potential for PEFC’s forest certification system and our continued growth around the world,” said Sarah Price, PEFC International’s head of projects and development.

Members can participate and vote in PEFC’s annual general assembly and nominate representatives for consideration to the PEFC board of directors.
