Performance Doorset Solutions (PDS) has relocated its double glazing production to its premises on Greenvale Business Park, Rochdale.
The move transfers the Acorn Glass operations PDS acquired in 2009.
“Relocating our glass factory and integrating to one site makes the logistical management of our production process much more streamlined, and enables us to increase production and quickly rectify daily issues as and when they arise,” said Tim Fairley, PDS managing director.
He said the move would also enable the business to respond more quickly to emergency call-outs, where security doors and windows are needed quickly following burglaries.
PDS has also invested in new CNC glass cutting optimisation machinery.
Staff numbers at Greenvale are now up to 110, double the level since PDS moved to the site in 2006.
“Now with an additional 16,000ft² unit, we have more capacity to expand the glazing side of the business and we hope to further increase this figure in 2010,” said Mr Fairley.
