Performance Doorset Solutions (PDS) is doing its bit to preserve heritage design which, it feels, is at risk as corners are cut in renovation projects in order to keep costs down.

The company has added a traditional box sliding sash window made from FSC-certified laminated softwood to its range.

“Athough we’re more aware and in control of the wasteful society we’d slipped into prior to the downturn, renovation should not be seen as a quick fix, but as a future investment in our property and our heritage,” said PDS’s managing director, Tim Fairley.

“The answer lies in product development; the right materials need to be readily available and at reasonable costs to meet tight renovation budgets,” he added. “As a company we value our heritage and our roots and it only seems appropriate that we convey this value in our product range.”
