FEP says that member companies and affiliated national assocations are noticing a slight contraction of the European market – by 2.3% in 2018 compared to 2017.

This contraction is mainly due to decreases in consumption in Germany and Switzerland and, to a lesser extent, in the Nordic and Benelux countries.

Parquet production in the FEP region declined slightly, from 76,339,000 in 2017, to 75,336,000m2 in 2018.

Poland maintained its position as the top producer of parquet, while Germany remains in first position in terms of consumption.

Oak is by far the most popular species, with 80.3% share in 2018.
