Timcon’s immediate past president Gil Covey chaired a discussion about the market, while current president John Dye told the meeting that a strong improvement in the economy would continue to exert pressure on timber availability for the manufacture of pallets and packaging.
Mr Dye said price rises were inevitable, although he called on sawmillers to consider the ongoing importance of the pallet sector as a customer.
