UK builder George Wimpey says it has eliminated construction hold-ups by sourcing staircases and I-beams from a single supplier – Palgrave Brown (UK) Ltd.
Wimpey company buyer Andrew Brown said delays were no longer caused by stairs not being fitted and added that the benefits of the supply arrangement had been proved during a trial over several sites.
Palgrave Brown claims to be the only manufacturer to offer both TJI Silent Floors and bespoke staircases, providing an integrated solution which saves time and cuts out the risks associated with managing two different suppliers.
Palgrave Brown sales manager Andy Warren said: “When decisions and changes to plans are being made at pace on site, it’s all too common for communication to break down between the different suppliers.”
