Timber frame manufacturer Pace Timber Systems Ltd is one of the UK’s fastest growing companies, according to The Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 league tables.

Reported as having achieved annual sales growth of 74% between 2000 and 2003, Pace Timber Systems was the only building systems manufacturer listed in this year’s table.

Pace Group director Jason Pritchard said that being recognised as one of the fastest growing unquoted companies in the UK was great news for the company and for the timber frame industry in general – in particular modern methods of construction (MMCs).

Pace Timber Systems started trading in January 2000. As well as supplying standard timber frame buildings, the company has launched Optima Homes – an MMC off-site building system.

Managing director Phil Key said: “The last 12 months have once again proved very exciting times for Pace Timber Systems and, indeed, the entire Pace Group.

“As for the future, our very ethos centres on supporting and delivering many of the modern and dynamic principles that are shaping the construction industry landscape, such as “modern methods of construction”, “whole house thinking”, “continuous improvement” and “sustainable construction”.

“If we are successful in achieving this, then we are confident that we will be able to sustain the levels of growth that we have enjoyed so far.”

Now in its eighth year, The Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 annual league table is compiled by research and events company Fast Track of Oxford and published with The Sunday Times.

The league table is sponsored by Virgin Atlantic, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Microsoft, HSBC and Cable &Wireless.
