OT Africa Line (OTAL) has expanded the role of its Scandinavian agent Maritime Transport & Agencies AB (MTA) to cover Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Russia.

Marketing manager Rachel Bennett said: “OTAL has been looking to appoint representatives within the Baltics for a while, and by using our existing partnership with MTA, we are confident that there is great potential for development in Eastern Europe.”

She said that by adding five new countries to its existing portfolio, OTAL builds important in-roads into this market and underlines its commitment to developing West Africa’s niche markets around the world.

“While trade between the Baltics and West Africa is still modest, it is expanding. At present Eastern and Central Europe is the fastest growing region in the world with GDP forecasted at 6%, in comparison to Western Europe at 2%, and we are very keen to tap into this emerging market.”
