American white oak has provided a warm interior for Oslo’s new Opera House.
The warmth of the 3,000m² of panels cladding the main foyer and auditoria contrasts with the ice-like exterior.
The combination reflects the cultural tradition of timber interiors with Norway’s icebergs.
It is the largest cultural building to be completed in the country since Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim.
