The opening follows recently announced plans for nearly US$400m in potential investments in the company’s plywood and lumber operations across the US south.

"As the housing market continues its slow recovery, the investment in our Clarendon County facility makes us well-positioned to grow with our customers," the company said.

The facility, which creates 130 new local jobs, will produce the BlueRibbon sheathing and sub-floor products, Thermostat OSB radiant barrier sheathing and DryGuard improved OSB sub-floor, plus larger panels used in speciality applications.
