Timber industry consultant Rupert Oliver is to be the keynote speaker at the International Wood Products Association‘s (IWPA) 2005 World of Wood Convention.
Mr Oliver, director of Forest Industries Intelligence Ltd and editor of hardwoodmarkets.com, will address the event in Savannah, Georgia, on March 9-11.
The IWPA says Mr Oliver is an active opinion leader within the industry and well-known for his hard-hitting and insightful commentary on the sector, environmental lobby and government regulators.
Other presentations during the convention will cover the new wood packaging guidelines, port security, customs requirements and how architects and designers are driving use of imported wood in the US.
More than 250 people from over 20 countries are expected to attend.
