Mr Rigby, who was 20 and from Kirkby, had worked at Brooks Bros for two years. On August 7 he was involved in a motorcycle accident in Skelmersdale. He was taken to Aintree Hospital but died on August 12.

"Steven was well on his way to becoming a very good Machinist and was a joy to teach and train and always put a smile on everyone’s face," said mill manager Gary Whittaker. "He is going to be missed and never forgotten by all his work mates."

General manager Darren McCarthy said Mr Rigby joined Brook Bros in October 2010, with "outstanding references" from his previous employers.

"He always had a smile on his face and he was helpful, kind and extremely respectful. He was a real credit to his family. The world could do with more people like Steven and he will be very sadly missed by everyone who knew him, not least by all of us here," said Mr McCarthy.

Everyone at Brooks Brothers sends their sincere condolences to Mr Rigby’s family and friends and assures them that he will always be remembered as a dedicated, hardworking and valued employee who was loved and respected by everyone who knew him.
