Maurice Snell, a former director of Price & Pierce, died on October 31. He was 78.
Mr Snell worked for Price & Pierce Ltd for more than 50 years and during that time he never had a day off through illness.
He was a director of Price & Pierce Ltd and managing director of Price, Morgan (Plywood & Boards) Ltd until his retirement.
During his career he travelled all over the world to visit suppliers in North and South America, the Far East, Russia and throughout Europe. He was very well respected for his knowledge of the trade and the markets he represented. One Brazilian plywood manufacturer described him as “a prince among men”.
Mr Snell lived in Cobham, Surrey and is survived by his wife Penny, stepdaughters Miranda, Natasha, Rebecca, stepson Alistair and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service was held in Stoke D’Abernon on November 13.
