Alan Twitchett, formally managing director of the Fibreboard Development organisation (FIDOR), and previously managing director at The Merchant Trading Company (Metco) for many years, sadly passed away recently following a long battle with cancer.
In an earlier part of his career Alan worked in West Africa before returning to the UK to hold a variety of timber trade industry positions. The annual FIDOR conferences which subsequently became WPPF under his leadership, were stimulating at a time when the fibreboard industry had strong momentum and they will be remembered positively by all those that attended.
