The Darlington branch of North Yorkshire Timber has achieved £1m turnover in just over a year since opening.

NYT sales director Nick Kershaw said: “Darlington’s success is great news, helping NYT to broaden its customer base and achieve our aim to be a one-stop shop for developers, self-build enthusiasts and the public.”

It follows the success of the NYT Group, which in November achieved its best monthly sales figures of £1.5m with a projected turnover of £15m in 2007.

Gordon Bache, NYT Darlington’s manager, said: “We are thrilled to reach this milestone million so quickly.”
