Novastar International Ltd has opened an office in St Petersburg, Russia.
Headed up by general manager Elvira Shemesh, the venture will have a base terminal operation in the St Petersburg port operation to facilitate Novastar shipping requirements from the region.
Other staff will include qualified graders and inspectors to oversee quality and service issues relating to Novastar’s supplies from all over Russia.
Novastar, which has a sales actitivity of around US$20m worldwide, is focused on softwood carcassing and joinery timber from Russia and the Baltics, directed at European markets. It also has a growing business in birch for the furniture industry along with fencing, processed profiles, tiles and battens.
