Houses in Wood: The Modern Norwegian Model will take place on June 7 at the Scottish Storytelling Centre, Edinburgh and has been tailored to showcase the design solutions and timber construction methods used in Norway that could be easily transferred to Scotland.

This includes dealing with weather and temperature extremes and constructing domestic and large scale, multi-storey timber buildings.

Architects, structural engineers, consultants, contractors, planning officers and house builders are all invited to attend the day-long event, which will include talks from a number of Norwegian firms using timber and cover topics ranging from thoughtful architecture to timber coatings.
