Peter Kershaw, managing director of North Yorkshire Timber (NYT) is to retire after 24 years with the company.

Mr Kershaw joined NYT in 1985, becoming a director in 1986 and managing director in 1997. He will be succeeded by his son, the current sales and marketing director, Nick Kershaw, who takes over the position as NYT celebrates 30 years in business.

Finance director Alan Gulliver will become deputy managing director and, in addition to his existing responsibilities, he will oversee all aspects of trading including sales and customers for the company’s three north-east branches.
