North Yorkshire Timber (NYT) is increasing roof truss production by half.
The Northallerton-based company is currently integrating a new truss press at its 120,000ft² fabrication and distribution centre near Catterick. Besides boosting output, the company says the machine, from AV Birch Engineers Ltd, will improve order turnaround times and increase its range of product styles.
The latest expansion at the business follows its record sales of engineered wood products in 2010, including truss rafters, glulam, I-joists and roof and floor cassettes.
