North Yorkshire Timber (NYT) has achieved the Investors in People (IIP) standard, just months after it suffered a disastrous fire at its headquarters.

The company is also celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, during which it has seen a management buy-in, the appointment of Richard Fawcett as chairman, and construction work begin on its new £1m head office and sales centre at Northallerton.

NYT, which employs 100 people and has a turnover of around £10m, was helped to IIP status by Business Link York and North Yorkshire.
