The Northallerton-based company is projecting higher turnover again next year.

The firm, which opened its sixth sales centre earlier this year, is expecting its annual turnover to reach £12.5m by the end of December.

Sales and marketing director Nick Kershaw said the company had not looked back since it first topped the £1m a month mark in April 2005.

“The upturn is accounted for by rapid growth across a number of product ranges, including engineered joists, internal feature doors, hardwood flooring, machined softwood and hardwood mouldings and specialist machining treatment services.

“Our core ranges of softwood carcassing, redwood, sawn and machined hardwood and softwood continue to sell extremely well, but offering a wider range of products has made the difference.”

He added that the targeting of engineered joists had attracted the business of several large housebuilding companies undertaking significant developments in the north-east and Yorkshire, as well as national timber suppliers.

The company said it expects to make a statement about a new acquisition soon.

North Yorkshire Timber has sales centres in Darlington, Sunderland, Northallerton, Ripon, Richmond and Middlesbrough.
