More than 2.3 million DIY leaflets forming part of the Nordic Timber Council‘s Nordic First timber promotion campaign have been picked up by consumers since their March launch.

The instructional ‘step by step’ guides which feature TV gardener Charlie Dimmock were sent to major timber stockists. They cover a range of activities including how to make timber garden seats, tables and chairs.

Nordic First also produced interior and exterior ‘Inspirational Brochures’ as part of its £1m a year campaign to promote sales of Nordic softwood for garden products and furniture. These give ideas for the home and garden and to date 485,400 have been distributed.

The initiative forms part of Nordic First’s trade campaign and the next phase is aimed at professionals. An architect’s brochure has been designed which will be a colour overview showing the advantages of using Nordic timber in architectural construction.

Architects, building contractors, carpenters, joiners and interior designers will be targeted.
