Norbord has donated 12 tonnes of woodchips to help the Doune and Dunblane Agricultural Show overcome bad weather.

Organisers of the event, which took part on July 5, called on Norbord after becoming concerned that heavy rain would leave the entrance to the show water-logged and unpassable for horses and floats involved in the event.

The woodchips were laid at the entrance to the show, where they soaked up excess water and allowed the show to continue as planned.

“It didn’t take long for the ground to dry up and the whole day’s events were a total success,” said Wilma Sim, secretary of the show.

“We are very grateful to Norbord for stepping in at such late notice and supporting this popular show for the thousands who visit each year.”
