Show organiser the Artexis Group, which already runs the Bois & Habitat trade fair, said Wood2Build would fill a gap in the exhibition market.
"Wood construction as a proportion of new builds in Belgium every year is estimated at 15%, compared with barely 5% 10 years ago," said Artexis.
"This Belgian trend is part of a more general movement that can be seen across Europe. France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the Netherlands and the UK which have all set up major promotional campaigns that have led to a ten-fold increase in wood construction over the last few years."
Several associations in the wood industry, representing sawmills, wholesalers, importers and manufacturers, have announced their support for the event.
The target audience includes architects, building contractors, property developers, timber construction professionals, public authorities, carpenters and joiners.
As well as wood construction products and systems, other related products will be displayed, such as fixing systems, tools, equipment, insulation and solutions for airtightness and damp-proofing.
A technical seminar programme and visits to wood building projects will complement the core exhibition focus.
Wood2Build will take place at Namur Expo on June 5-7, 2013.
