Gavin Davidson of Iggesund Forestry (UK) Ltd has been elected as president of the UK Forest Products Association. He succeeds Tony Mitchell of Tulloch Timber (Nairn) Ltd.

At the recent AGM Rod Gordon of John Gordon & Son Ltd was elected vice-president and Richard Palmer of AW Jenkinson Forest Products elected junior vice-president.

Addressing members, Mr Davidson said the UKFPA was well established and widely acknowledged as the voice of the wood processing sector in Great Britain and it was pleasing to see membership increasing, “which further demonstrates the value of the organisation”.

“Ours is a professionally-run trade association which has its members’ interests and a practical focus at its heart. Our industry is facing some challenging times, but we also have some good opportunities too and we will continue to work with similarly-minded organisations for the common good,” said Mr Davidson.
