The assets and goodwill of Hardwood Flooring Supplies (HFS) have been bought by hardwood flooring manufacturer Boen AS of Norway to create a new distribution company, Boen UK Ltd.
The company will be headed up by commercial director Edward Ellis, formerly with Junckers, and latterly sales director of HFS.
The acquisition is part of a wider investment programme by the Norwegian company in Germany, Lithuania and Russia and coincides with the decision to promote its product range under the single Boen brand.
The launch of new products is planned, including a dry-joint engineered floor and development of the sports floor ranges.
Boen UK Ltd will also distribute BonaKemi finishes and accessories and the Wicanders range of cork flooring.
Other solid hardwood ranges will include Canadian unfinished strip and a prefinished and unfinished European oak plank range from Boen’s new Lithuanian factory.
The new venture will be backed by advertising and public relations campaigns in both the trade and consumer press.
