Advanced Machinery Services (AMS) and a new company, Independent Service Solutions (ISS), are teaming up to offer a range of wood processing machine maintenance and support services.
AMS was created in 2007 by Steve Foster and Steve McGloin, both formerly with Wadkin and is based in 15,000ft² premises within the former Wadkin factory in Leicester.
It now provides nationwide servicing and maintenance for the range of machine brands, spares and tooling supply in the UK and overseas and is also undertaking rebuild and refurbishment work.
Oxfordshire-based ISS was launched by former Weinig after-sales and service manager Neal Reid to offer maintenance and repair services and machine training, supply spare parts and provide consultancy in project management, risk assessment and health and safety.
“For AMS the opportunity to enter into a partnership with ISS and Neil was too good to miss and represents a real step-change for our company,” said Mr Foster. “We’ve already seen our business develop rapidly. Having just taken on our spindle rebuild engineer full time, we now have a team of nine and our tooling and spares businesses are getting Googled worldwide. With ISS we can offer a package of other complementary services, ranging from training to turnkey plant consultancy.”
“My six sub-contractor engineers, two in the UK and four based in Germany, will also work closely with the AMS engineering team,” said Mr Reid. “They have different skills and experience in different types of technology and we will be able to allocate the most appropriate engineer to the job.”
“We also see opportunities to develop the business abroad and together we’re drawing up plans to launch Advanced Machinery Services Europe,” said Mr Reid.
