Mr Thomson has worked in the builders merchant industry for nearly 30 years, the past four being with BMCo.
Moving straight from college, he joined Travis and Arnold as a commercial trainee and continued with Travis Perkins through its management structure for 12 years. He then moved to Build Center for a further eight years. His next move was into the independent sector, working for Pagets’ Builders Merchant in Sheffield for six years. He then joined Builders’ Merchant Company in 2010 as general manager and was promoted to commercial director in 2012.
