The traditional seasonal increase in new home completions showed a 13% growth in November, compared to a year ago.
The latest figures from the NHBC show completions were up 24% compared to October.
Meanwhile, housing starts were down 3.5% in the three months to the end of November. NHBC recorded 25,790 home started, with 7,960 getting under way in November.
Rolling 12 months statistics show there were 104,300 starts, compared to 111,100 for the preceding 12 month period.
