The opening of Jackson Building Centres’ 26th branch is an indication that not all is gloomy in the merchant market.
The new branch in Alford, Lincolnshire was opened on December 1, and will offer the company’s full range of building materials, including sawn timber and timber products, as well as having a tool hire centre for both trade and retail customers.
Jackson, part of the Grafton Group, which also operates the Buildbase and Plumbase brands in the UK, said the new centre would help the company meet growing customer demand for its products. It is due to open its 27th branch in York in the new year.
“The opening of Alford branch proves Jackson Building Centres is going from strength to strength, even in these difficult times,” said marketing manager Colin Bartleet.
“The new branch will enable us to provide customers in the Alford and surrounding areas with excellent service and products to meet the growing demand from customers.”
Grafton Group operates in the UK and Ireland, with its UK operations seeing turnover grow by 1.5% in the 10 months to October, due to its significant exposure to the more healthy RMI market.
