The environmental efforts of Austrian moulding manufacturer Neuhofer Holz GmbH have been recognised with the award of an EN ISO 14001 certificate.

The company, which set up its own environmental management system in a bid to achieve a cleaner environment, already holds ISO 9001 certification and has Forest Stewardship Council certification.

The company said the main aim of achieving ISO 14001 certification was to continuously promote environmental protection and avoid environmental pollution over the long term in harmony with socio-economic requirements.

A company spokesperson said: “This is not just about a one-shot opportunity for a cleaner environment, but permanent monitoring of compliance with environmentally-oriented measures and fundamental rethinking of the entire company.”

To achieve ISO 14001 certification, Neuhofer Holz has optimised waste disposal, improved groundwater protection and dealt with a difficult exhaust air situation.
