Neatflex, Neat Concepts’ latest bendable product, showed off its strength and flexibility at 100% Design.
The product was used by Island Stone to exhibit its mesh backed pebble tiles on three arches which show visitors walked under.
Neatflex is Neat Concepts’ first laminated product which consists of one layer of 4mm birch and one of 15mm Medite Lite from Weyerhaeuser.
The Medite is grooved right through while the ply is untouched, so providing the product with its flexibility.
The arches were built up layer by layer on a former using decorator’s lining paper to increase the adhesive area between the two grooved faces of Neatflex.
In places where the sheets had to be abutted in one layer, any abutment in the other layer was at least 300mm away to ensure that the construction was strong.
