Wolverhampton-based National Hickman is trebling production capacity of its factory-built timber roofing system.
The company says successful sales of the LoCo2 branded product, launched a year ago, had resulted in its deciding to add 56,000ft² of factory space at Wolverhampton and increase staff working on the product to 30.
In addition, a second LoCo2 production line will be established at the company’s Glenrothes site in the second half of the year to supply the system to Scotland and the north of England.
Captial expenditure will include multi-angled cross-cuts, dimension saw and assembly jigs.
National Hickman has received orders from several national housebuilders including Barratt Developments, Bovis Homes and Linden Homes.
The company will accelerate its plans to offer the system to all its housebuilder customers.
LoCo2 comprises fully-insulated roof panels and spandrel panels for on-site installation by crane.
National Hickman’s established business includes I-joists (JJI-Joists), door kits and the Fibercill range of MDF mouldings.
