Administrators have been appointed at MFI Group Ltd just two months after the firm was formed in a management buyout.
The news brings the very real possibility of the MFI brand disappearing.
Administrators of the company, which runs 106 MFI stores, have already taken the “reluctant” decision to close 26 stores at the request of landlord Galiform plc, which previously owned MFI.
Just days ago administrators of separate company MFI Retail Ltd announced they had closed the remaining 75 stores of the business after failing to find a buyer.
MFI split into two after the creation of MFI Group Ltd at the end of September, which left 81 stores in the hands of administrators Kroll.
