Montague L Meyer (MLM) scooped the coveted Timber Trader of the Year prize at this year’s TTJ Awards.

The awards, held at The Savoy, were attended by a record 318 people, who were treated to a lively and entertaining talk by former Conservative Party leader William Hague MP. MLM managing director Glenn McCardle collected the winning trophy from Mark Plews, managing director of Awards gold sponsor UCM Timber plc.

Mr McCardle said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won the TTJ Timber Trader of the Year award. It clearly demonstrates that the many new strategies we have been pursuing have been positively received by the industry.”

It is the second time MLM has won the top prize – its other triumph coming at the 2001 awards. The company also won the Panels Trader of the Year prize for the second year running.

Environmental Achievement Award: SCA Timber Supply Ltd (sponsor: UCM Timber plc)
