Panel products company Montague L Meyer hopes to have Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain of custody certificates for virtually all its sites by the end of the year.
FSC inspections took place at its premises at Newcastle, Grangemouth, Leeds and Birmingham this month.
Seven sites acquired in its takeover of William T Eden will be inspected by the end of the year, leaving just the Hull premises, obtained in the takeover of Profile Timber, without certification. Its Barking head office and Southampton, Widnes and Newport branches are already FSC certified.
MLM believes its network of branches will put it in a unique position to deliver certified products nationwide.
