Landscape and garden timber products company M&M Timber Ltd has won a contract to supply more than 30 independent garden centres in the Tillington Group.

The contract will see the Kidderminster-based firm supply products such as machine rounded pergolas and arches to the group, which comprises nine of the UK’s largest independent garden centre companies.

Nigel Poyner, M&M’s managing director, said the company has also enjoyed a bumper start to the spring, with £100,000 of orders taken on March 29. The business was taken from a variety of sectors including agriculture, commercial, landscaping and the garden products market.

He said: “M&M has never seen anything like it before.”

Mr Poyner attributed the sales to the popularity of the company’s range of machine rounded timber products, which he believes offers customers something different from traditional square-cut timber.

He said the firm is on target to secure a 25% growth in sales this year.

M&M has completed a £100,000 investment in new equipment and infrastructure at its Clows Top sawmill and will shortly take delivery of a £40,000 trellis making machine.
