The contract confirms MLM Distribution, better known as Montague L Meyer and William T Eden, as one of the port’s major forest product customers, extending the 10-year relationship between the company and the Port of Tilbury.

The company distributes its products nationwide from its facility at the port.

Most of MLM’s sheet materials arrive on Far Eastern vessels and on the South American Grimaldi service, with some cargo coming from the Baltics and by road transport to the port’s central terminals warehouse facilities. Containerised traffic is also handled.

“By working with MLM to control the supply chain, the two parties have created a strong logistics partnership which will continue to develop over the next few years,” said Perry Glading, Port of Tilbury managing director.
