A wooden window, door and conservatory manufacturer is the first timber company to utilise a computer software program which will enable it to ship conservatory parts direct to the customer without the need for a “dry build” in the factory.

Timbmet subsidiary Mitre Master Ltd has installed software from RoofWright of Stockport into its manufacturing system.

Steve Crossley, marketing director for Timbmet Rochdale, said the software package will produce accurate and precise measurements for cutting, negating the need to erect a conservatory prior to it going out to a customer.

It will also enable the company to fulfil orders with greater speed and precision and cut down installation time on site.

A spokesman for RoofWright said the company had been working with the aluminium and uPVC industries, but this was its first venture into the timber market.
