The German wood products group Häussermann has bought the failed Mirako group, the timber and thermally modified timber products specialist that ceased operations in April.

Production resumed immediately at the group’s businesses in Upper Austria under a rebranded Häussermann Austria. No financial details were disclosed.

Mirako comprised the thermal timber producer Thermoholz, the Mitteramskogler sawmill and timber trade firm, and the Mirako-Holz holding company.

Häussermann has 100 employees in two locations in Baden-Württemberg manufacturing solid profiles for interior and exterior products.

A spokesman said previous owner Hubert Mitteramskogler will continue in a role to expand the thermally modified timber business.
