Stewart Milne Timber Systems said its recruitment of former Corgi Technical Services commercial director Eddie Stanton as new sales director, as well as business development team newcomers Keith Wood and George Parmain (taking responsibility for east Scotland and East Anglia/south-east respectively) could be viewed as the company setting its stall for market growth.

“There are tentative signs that the market is beginning to pick up and we want to be in the best shape possible to capitalise on the emerging opportunities,” said Alex Goodfellow, group managing director of Stewart Milne Timber Systems.

Mr Goodfellow said Milne’s business was growing, with some significant new projects being won across the UK. Mr Stanton’s appointment, he added, would maximise opportunities and help accelerate growth on a national scale.

Mr Stanton, who has also held the roles of sales and marketing director at Baxi Potterton and managing director of Glen Dimplex, will have overall responsibility for UK sales and the estimating and value engineering department.
