Mighton Products Ltd has worked with Mablethorpe Joinery to supply entrance doors and 50 sliding sash windows for a planning-sensitive housing development in Lough, Lincolnshire.

Oglesby and Limb Ltd, the architects on the Riverhead development, specified timber windows that would complement the existing local buildings, including tradtional finishings.

Mighton provided all the brass window furniture for the five town houses, as well as spiral spring balances and parting beads.

The windows were tailor-made for the development, and Chris Haddon, owner of Mablethorpe, noted that there was a growing trend for traditional styles even in newbuilds.

“About 60% of our orders are for sashes,” said Mr Haddon. “The difference these days is that they are made from renewably sourced timber and are double-glazed to meet modern Building Regulations.”
