Metsäliitto has sold the machinery and equipment of its Soinlahti sawmill to Anaika Wood Oy.

It has also signed a contract to sell the buildings and land to Lisalmen Teollisuuskylä Oy.

Soinlahti was shut at the start of 2009. Its production, mainly spruce, was sold to the domestic market and to Metsäliitto’s own upgrading division.

Anaika Woods intends to use the mill to saw timber, which will be processed in its other mills and then sold to Japan.

The contract also includes a long-term wood acquisition contract between Metsäliitto and Anaika.
