The memorial is designed to remember those that have lost their lives working in the Australian timber industry, as well as commemorating the impact it has had on Australia’s culture and economy.
The funds are to be used by the Timber Workers Memorial Eden Inc group to purchase a statue for the memorial, which will also include gardens and a memorial wall, according to Eden-Monaro minister Gary Nairn.
