The facade of surfing boutique Rip Curl, located on Boulevard Montparnasse in Paris, has had a facelift courtesy of Medite Exterior MDF panels from Weyerhaeuser Europe Ltd.
Catastrophe struck when renovations began on the French boutique. As part of the work, it had been decided that the facade was to be preserved – but while it was being removed the entire structure collapsed.
The architect said the new facade had to be built in stone, but that material proved difficult to transport. Joseph Bizeul, technical and sales manager for the Jean Sall renovation company opted instead for a wooden facade which he felt would be easier to work with.
He specified Medite Exterior MDF panels which, thanks to the finish and application of a specific lacquer, produced the stone appearance the architect had requested.
