Medite is to celebrate 25 years of European production by producing its six millionth m³ of MDF at its factory in Clonmel, Ireland.
European production of Medite MDF began on September 23, 1983 at the factory which will now surpass the six million m³ milestone in the month of its 25th birthday.
Laid end-to-end, the total amount of Medite MDF produced at Clonmel is enough to circle the equator 6.8 times, stretch from Land’s End to John O’Groats 281 times and reach almost three-quarters of the way to the moon. The 8x4ft, 18mm panels would also be enough to cover 52,083 football pitches or the London Heathrow site 27 times.
“It is only fitting that this month our celebration of 25 years of production in Ireland coincides with the production of our six millionth m³ of Medite MDF,” said Geoff Rhodes, marketing and business development director at Medite’s parent company Coillte Panel Products.
Medite is to turn its six millionth m³ of MDF into limited edition, specially branded hand samples for customers, clients and associates.
